This book is a little battle scarred at the top of the spine and corners but it was published in 1876 so I think we can forgive it. I find it amazing the number of things mooted in Sci Fi that actually come to pass. In this story by Jules Verne an American Gun Club decides to build huge cannon to use to send a projectile to the moon. Verne sites his cannon in Tampa Florida 100 years before the Kennedy Space Centre was built in Florida. There are three men in the projectile which reach the moon. Many other authors have predicted future developments, George Orwell and his Big Brother scenario in 1984. Just remember how many times we are on camera or tracked in someway throughout our 21st century lives. If this kind of thing interests you too I suggest you read E M Forster’s The Day the Machine Stopped.
