This book is a collection of Roald Dahl’s letters to his mother. He started them when he went to boarding school aged 9 and then continued during his flying exploits during the war and throughout his writing career. Unbeknownst to him his Mum kept all the letters. Most parents keep things from their offspring’s childhood and beyond. One of my favourites is a christmas decoration made out of a comfort lid and patterned sellotape . This letter collection is a very complete record and we see the development of the individual through them. Great idea for Mother’s Day.
