This comic album covers a century of wit told through cartoons and I love it. It was published in 1948 and is definitely used but still a great book to dip into. There are so many famous names on the contents page I don’t know where to begin to tell you about them. Max Beerbohm, G. K Chesterton, Edmund Dulac, Edward Lear, E. H Shepard and John Tenniel this is just the tip of the iceberg. The wonderful thing about cartoons is that they give you an inkling to the political issues of the day and this anthology features work from 1848-1948. Absolutely amazing.
