We have just had this wonderful book into stock.Gordon Horner was an artist who at one time was war Artist for the Sunday Chronicle. This book is a collection of his work from his time in the Middle East through to his P.O.W time in Italy and Germany. It is a mix of work in charcoal and in colour. The charcoal portraits are extraordinary and the viewer feels the subjects have been captured in a very lifelike manner not just the physical resemblance but their character shines through. The colour work is exquisite, very detailed and very delicate; an absolutely incredible book. Fellow prisoner of war and fellow Yorkshire man cricketer Bill Bowes who played for Yorkshire and England has written the foreword and has signed it.
